Gemstones are incredibly beautiful and have always caught everyone's attention. As the years passed, it became more and more difficult to acquire one of these beautiful stones, not only because of their high price, but also because of their rarity. A natural stone takes many years to form and, because of this, synthetic stones began to be produced, making it possible to acquire these pieces at a lower cost. But there is an important point to be highlighted: are synthetic stones really identical to natural ones? Is it worth making this switch? That's what you'll discover in today's text! Follow with us!
The differences between natural and synthetic stones
Natural stones are formed by nature itself and take several years, even decades to be ready. These gems are the result of natural chemical combinations, without human interference. Synthetic ones are produced in laboratories and take only months to form. Made from materials found in natural stones, they are very similar and have the same chemical and physical characteristics as the originals.
Brightness
The main difference between natural and synthetic stones is in the refraction of light, which in synthetic stones is lower, compromising the shine of the piece, unlike what happens with natural stones. Therefore, the shine of natural stones is stronger and more beautiful and this is a great detail that must be taken into account when choosing jewelry.
Durability
Although the imitation is almost perfect, we cannot leave aside the natural factor. The simple fact that natural stones are produced by nature already weighs in the decision to buy or not a synthetic stone. This factor brings with it the question of durability, which must also be considered. As much as the imitation is good, the durability of natural stones is much greater than that of synthetics.
Rarity
Synthetic stones are easily produced and, therefore, cannot be considered rare and are more easily found and acquired. When you own a natural stone, you have in your hands a very rare gem, difficult to find and, therefore, of undeniable value!
Energy
It is not new that we perceive the influence of precious stones on magnetic fields. Since the ancestors, their appreciation happens mainly because of the energy they emanate. This does not occur with synthetic stones, as they are produced in laboratories. Each natural stone has its energy, benefiting specific areas, such as, for example, the emerald, which helps in the immune system and brings mental, physical and emotional balance. Amethyst brings calm and is ideal for people who experience insomnia. Topaz already represents wisdom and prosperity, as well as assisting in the respiratory system. The benefits of natural stones are countless!
After reading this post, we can see that, despite the similarity, the advantages of owning a natural stone are many and range from appearance, such as brightness, to greater factors such as the energy they possess. Therefore, these numerous advantages justify the higher price that natural stones have compared to synthetic ones and show that, like any type of imitation, the quality of the original is incomparably better.

I really enjoyed the explanations about natural stones!
I see synthetic blood-red rubies sold at ridiculous prices while real rubies are less recognized! Due to technology, they started to call the red sapphire ruby. This is a big joke, ruby is ruby and sapphire is sapphire.
I already knew something about the difference between a natural stone and a synthetic one, I always called a synthetic stone a blind stone. What I didn't know was that mental, physical and emotional balance, the latter I already felt for the safety and well-being it provides me.
Any tips on where to buy aquamarine or natural aquamarine stone?
