There are countless types of gemstones in the world. In Brazil alone, for example, more than one hundred types of gemstones are found. They have different colors, meanings and values, but they all have the power to enchant people in common.
Check out the selection of gems we made for you to learn a little more about the universe of the most beloved gemstones used in beautiful jewelry:
Diamond
One of the most coveted stones in the world, the Diamond it is composed solely of carbon, and has a colorless hue and, sometimes, it is possible to notice yellow, pink, blue and green nuances.
Red and orange diamonds are rarely found. The difficulty in extracting the mineral from the depths of the earth makes the Diamond one of the most valuable gemstones. Its hardness and resistance — did you know that one diamond can only be broken by another? — make the stone the symbol of love that cannot be destroyed and, therefore, this is a stone often used in engagement rings and alliances.
Ruby
The name Ruby, from the Latin rubeus, means red, which already indicates the color of one of the most valuable gemstones, next to Diamond and Emerald. Just as its color is strong, its meaning is too, the ruby increases the courage, initiative and leadership power of the people who wear it.
Emerald
A Emerald it is, in fact, a variation of the green beryl, whose color appears due to an excess of chromium. In antiquity, the gem was considered sacred and, therefore, it was the most desired stone by all. It has the power to rejuvenate the wearer, as well as to offer love, intelligence and the ability to express oneself well.
Aquamarine
Like Emerald, Aquamarine it is a variation of beryl; its blue-green color is related to the presence of iron. It was used as a lucky charm by sailors who, in stone, found the courage to undertake journeys across the often impetuous seas. It is the stone that provides peace and relief, as well as having the power to cure various diseases.
Tourmaline
A Tourmaline It is a stone rich in color. We can find it in shades of pink, red, yellow, green, black, and even colorless or with many colors at once, as if it were the rainbow. The most famous of the Tourmalines is blue in color and therefore receives a special name: Paraiba Tourmaline. In the field of health, the gem has healing power over circulatory and respiratory tracts. Already in the spiritual, it is considered a protective stone, which drives away bad energies and even black magic.
Jade
Jade's color tones range from whitish green to dark green. By the ancients, it was considered the stone of wisdom, and its healing power is related to the heart, both in the emotional and physical fields.
Opal
It can be found in different colors, ranging from white to gray, through orange and blue, all with an unmistakable shine. A Opal can be considered a stone capable of capturing and transmitting good energies, its healing power is associated with the harmonization of body and mind, offering emotional control, peace, love, wisdom and creativity to those who use it.
Sapphire
In addition to being a stone found with various shades of blue, even reaching violet, it is also possible to see sapphires with pink and orange tones. It is a stone that brings balance and helps those who need concentration to carry out activities that involve the mind.
Turquoise
With a unique blue and well differentiated from other blue stones, turquoise inspired a variation in the color palette that is used today. You've certainly heard someone talk about turquoise blue. This color is related to the presence of copper in the gem, which provides well-being and was used, in antiquity, as an amulet.
Amethyst
A Amethyst It is a beautiful violet colored stone, which is actually a variation of quartz, and is related to self-control, and the ability to stay balanced.

I found some blue stones, how do I know if they are valuable?
Hello Ricardo, only an expert can attest to the veracity of this stone. We suggest contacting, as well as obtaining the certificate of authenticity, through GIA, which does not have an office in Brazil, which does not prevent you from making direct contact with them and sending the material via Sedex. And in Brazil, we suggest the IBGM laboratory:

I love the amethyst and emerald stone. I have an emerald earring and ring and an amethyst earring, I love these stones!
Good evening, very enlightening blog, I found it amazing. I was looking for precious stones and I loved an apatite called in an ad, what would be the difference between it and a paraiba tourmaline (it looks identical), follow the link where I saw it: //produto.mercadolivre.com.br/MLB-741161323-apatite -authentic-bracelet-gold-and-silver-stones-_JM
Hello Luciano, visually Apatite can be very similar to Turmalina Paraíba. The distinction between Apatite and Tourmaline can be performed using basic gemological instruments, because, although these two gems have similar refractive indices, the specific weight and absorption spectrum (if present) are quite different. Apatite is a beautiful natural gem with a lower market value, but it does not have the same qualities as Paraíba Tourmaline, just be careful not to take it for granted.
I hope I have resolved your query. Keep accompanying us!
