It is interesting to observe how some simple words are capable of awakening our senses and emotions. Few of them have the ability to express in their graphic symbology all the feelings arising from their physical reference. When one reads, for example, “precious stone”, it is already associated with an imaginary of glamor and sophistication.
Continuing our series on stones from Brazil, today you will get to know one of the many Brazilian gems, and from this post, every time you read or hear any reference to it, you will immediately be able to feel all its charm. Keep following and learn more about the morganite from Minas Gerais!
The characteristics of Morganite from Minas Gerais
Morganite is a pink gem that, despite being beautiful, is still little known by jewelry lovers and buyers. This can be easily exemplified if it is compared to other precious stones belonging to the beryl group, which it is part of, such as aquamarine and emerald.
This fact may be associated with its recent recognition. Despite having been found thousands of years ago, it was only in 1911 that gemologists named and certified it as a legitimate gemstone, and not just as a variation of a beryl mineral.
The stone was named after an American banker and collector named JP Morgan. In its natural form, it can be found as a crystal or a petrified raisin, with few inclusions. Its pink color is the result of the presence of manganese and iron in its composition, but it can also appear in pinkish-orange and salmon tones, always translucent (the variation of chemical elements is what will be responsible for the tone).
Minas Gerais is one of the Brazilian states that produces the most, however, morganite can also be found in deposits in countries such as Afghanistan, Madagascar and the United States.
The mysticism in the stones: morganite
It is believed that gemstones have energies capable of influencing the lives of people who wear them. Morganite is mystically recognized for its therapeutic effects on the urinary tract, muscles, breathing and digestion.
In relation to the psyche, it acts by emitting strong vibrations, helping restless people to be more calm and confident in their daily lives. The planet that governs her is Venus and she is associated with the sign of Libra. It has a protective energy and is a powerful gem for those who constantly victimize themselves, helping to recognize thoughts of escape.
Morganite and commemorative dates
At 53 years of marriage, Morganita Wedding is celebrated. The gem, which has love and feelings as symbols, is a reference for those who have been together for many years. Therefore, presenting a couple on this commemorative date with a piece of jewelry with this gem is a very significant attitude.
But you don't have to wait so many years to offer a morganite jewelry to a special person, there are birthdays, Christmas, graduations, etc. In the US, for example, this has been a very sought after stone for commitment rings in a courtship. And regardless of the moment, there will be plenty of opportunities to surprise someone with this beautiful gem!
