Humanity's fascination with jewelry dates back to the most remote times. Studies prove that the art of making props predates writing. Symbols of beauty and power, these ornaments were cast in noble metals and set with precious stones.
The universe of jewelry has a greater meaning than just being an accessory: they tell stories, rescue traditions and act in the construction of each woman's identity. There is a mixture of precious stones, playful references and a lot of creativity. As a result, we have exclusive rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces designed with care and aimed at an audience that loves this minimalist and delicate process.
For the creation of a jewel, a wide knowledge and a lot of work is necessary. Each step requires a different skill: design, casting, rolling, forging, shaping and finishing. All this to obtain the perfection of a piece that could be the only one to be made.
In times of excessive consumption, there is nothing like valuing the slow movement and the production of unique pieces or in small series. After all, do you know how jewelry is produced? Check out!
Jewel creation and prototyping
Creation is the most important, as it is at this moment that the designer works with a lot of information, creativity and inspiration. It can be called the materialization of ideas and it is at this time that the project leaves the paper through a machining system (wearing out of materials) until it reaches the desired shape.
making of the piece
The making is done through a process called “tree fabrication”, in which, basically, a skeleton of the piece is made so that the manufacturing process begins. First, the mold is made so that the jewels are injected. With the prototype in hand, the specialist starts assembling the tree (a central structure and a base) making small welds on one side and on the other side a small device is welded that will serve as a support in the final assembly.
Once this is done, the specialist fixes the small welded points on the “stem” of the tree in a straight line, forming rows according to the type of piece. After this assembly, 4 more external rods are welded to support the tree. This process requires immense care.
Mold preparation and metal injection
Once ready, the tree is used to create wax molds, with up to 30 cavities in different formats. The tree is dipped in a steel vessel with liquid plaster. After a few moments, the plaster hardens forming a block mixed with the resin tree. The piece is placed in an oven to gain strength and, at that moment, the channels and cavities flow, forming several jewels.
details and finish
At this stage there is little care. Each stone is set manually (setting is done by drilling holes to house the stones). Finishing is the last stage of the process and the entire piece is checked in order to find imperfections or defects. When it is verified and approved, it undergoes a special polishing process. We also cannot forget to bathe the jewelry, which can be gold, silver or rhodium.
